I just saw Anne-Marie pick out another egg shell, but this time she didn’t just fly away with it - she ate it!
You can still see the shell on her beak here:

Anne-Marie is a pretty young blackbird who has chosen to make her nest above the joint in a drain pipe under our porch roof. I've placed a webcam just above her nest, so we can watch her brood and hatch this spring. Without further ado... here she is!

Ooohh!! And just I saw her fly away with an egg shell. How considerate of her not to just chuck it out of the nest! ![]()

I saw Anen-Marie bring a worm to the nest - she kept on waggling it over the nest, let it drop and picked it up a couple of times… I couldn’t see any hungry beaks yet, but something must have eaten it! ![]()

The naming process has been really slow so far… (So you can still participate!)
One suggestion was: Joe, William, Jack, Averell, and Dalton from the comic series “Lucky Luke“. Thanks, CK!
It’s a real challenge to find group names for groups that have more than 4 members…
Ikarus, Lindbergh, Zeppelin, The Red Baron, and Quax would be my idea.
Any others?

We’ve seen that Anne-Marie has laid 5 eggs!

What shall we call them? They may hatch any minute now!
